São Paulo – A 48-year-old worker died on Monday, September 29, 2025, after falling from the roof of a commercial building in the Jabaquara district, southern São Paulo. The accident occurred at the Centro Empresarial do Aço.

According to the Military Police, the man was performing maintenance work on a glass structure when the safety rope he was using broke. He was left hanging from the building before the rope snapped completely, causing him to fall. His death was confirmed at the scene.

A video captured the moment the worker was left suspended from the glass structure. The state’s Public Security Secretariat (SSP) stated that he had been applying window film when the glass shattered, leading to the accident.

The case was registered as a suspicious death at the 35th Police District (Jabaquara). Authorities are investigating whether the company responsible for the work failed to comply with safety and labor regulations.
