A family of four was killed in a devastating road accident on July 17, 2026, at approximately 8:10 p.m. on the Tambov–Penza highway, near the 56th kilometre mark in the Rasskazovsky Municipal District, Tambov Region, Russia.

According to preliminary information, the crash occurred after a BMW and a heavy truck collided head-on. Investigators believe that a violation of overtaking rules and excessive speed may have contributed to the fatal collision.

The BMW was carrying a family from the Voronezh Region. The victims included a 45-year-old woman, a 35-year-old man, and two minor children. All four occupants of the vehicle died as a result of the crash.

The truck driver was not injured in the collision. Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances that led to the tragedy.
