Following the death of a woman at the Am Stern train stop in Kassel, more details about the accident have emerged. The 26-year-old had attempted to cross the tracks between two train carriages. Onlookers severely hampered the rescue operation.

After evaluating witness statements and video footage, investigators confirmed that the victim was trying to cross the tracks between two tram cars. As she was stepping over the coupling, the tram started moving. She lost her balance, fell, and was run over. Her injuries were so severe that she died at the scene.
