On Thursday night (26), a shooting attack in the Ponta da Ilha neighborhood of Xique-Xique, in the Irecê region, left six people injured.

According to residents, three hooded men stormed Genivaldo's Bar and fired dozens of shots at those inside. One of the assailants was reportedly armed with a large-caliber weapon. Two victims died at the scene, while the others were rescued and taken to the city hospital.

Witnesses noted that the bar is known for hosting gambling activities, including pool and card games with betting. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The Civil Police are actively investigating the case and working to apprehend the suspects. No arrests have been made so far.

The Xique-Xique city government issued a statement expressing condolences and solidarity with the victims' families. “May the good Lord comfort and reassure the grieving families, granting eternal rest to those who have passed, and a speedy recovery to the injured,” the statement read.

Municipal Health and Social Action departments are providing support to the affected families, including psychological assistance, medical care, and funeral support.
