A 21-year-old woman died during a rope jump activity in Limeira, São Paulo, Brazil, after she was reportedly launched from a platform without being attached to the required safety rope.

According to authorities, the victim fell from a height of approximately 40 meters at the Ponte do Esqueleto trail, a location known for adventure sports. Emergency services were called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The incident was captured on video and quickly circulated on social media.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the safety rope had not been connected before the jump. Witnesses reported that people at the scene began shouting that the rope was missing immediately after the victim was launched from the platform. Authorities are examining whether negligence played a role in the fatal incident.

The victim was identified as Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas. Police have opened an investigation and registered the case as a homicide pending further findings, while investigators review video footage and interview those involved in the operation of the activity.
