The victim jumped out of a helicopter with seven other cadets. Seconds later he crashed into a patch of grass, after which a witness immediately ran to help him.

The Infobae Mexico team was able to confirm with the Navy ( Semar ) that the death occurred last Monday, July 1, in the state of Campeche.

Relatives of the young man, identified as Cadet Velázquez, reported that the wake would be held in the municipality of Tenancingo, State of Mexico, and that there would be a mass in the chapel of San Ramón Sepelio, located in the Tepoxtepec cemetery.

This is not the first time that an incident of this type has occurred. In 2022, a cadet of the Veracruz Civil Force died during a parachute jump practice in the municipality of Atlixco, after his equipment did not work properly, causing him to fall from several hundred meters high.

The incident occurred during a training session at the Skydive extreme park. The cadets had been taken aboard a small plane to practice jumping from thousands of feet high. However, at a crucial moment, the cadet's parachute failed to deploy properly, resulting in his tragic fall.

The training of the cadets of the Heroic Naval Military School includes parachute jumping practices in which they train to act in high-impact operations and emergency situations.
