On September 9 in Stockton, California, police officers confronted a 19-year-old man, later identified as Rocco Robinson, who was seated in a double-parked vehicle near Doray Court and Pixie Drive.

When officers approached, he got out and ran. During the chase, he dropped a loaded gun and then tried to pick it up again while ignoring commands from police. Officers opened fire, hitting him multiple times.

Robinson received medical aid at the scene and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A ghost gun and a high-capacity magazine were recovered from the scene.

Authorities confirmed that a multi-agency investigation is underway, and the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.
