A recently released video shows the moment a driver ignored lowered railroad crossing gates and drove onto the tracks before being struck by an oncoming train in a fatal collision.

The footage captures the vehicle approaching the crossing, pushing through the safety arms, and continuing forward despite flashing warning signals. Within seconds, a train collided with the car, resulting in the driver’s death.

The crash occurred on the same day the train company launched a national rail safety campaign called “See Tracks? Think Train!”, aimed at promoting awareness of the dangers of crossing tracks unsafely.

Authorities have not released the driver’s identity as investigations continue into the cause and circumstances surrounding the crash.
