A 19-year-old man identified as Guilherme Leite Quadros was shot and killed on the evening of Thursday, October 2, inside a snack bar located in a kiosk at Praça Carlito Crespo Martins, in the Cehab neighborhood of Itaperuna, Rio de Janeiro.

According to initial investigations, two men arrived at the scene on a motorcycle. The passenger dismounted, entered the establishment, and opened fire while the victim was in the kitchen with another person. Guilherme succumbed to his injuries before emergency services arrived.

This incident marks the fifth homicide recorded in Itaperuna in less than a week, raising concerns among local residents about escalating violence in the region.

Police from the 143rd Police District of Itaperuna are leading the investigation. So far, no arrests have been made, and the motive for the crime remains unclear. Authorities are examining the possibility that the killing may be linked to ongoing gang conflicts in the area.
