A gas station attendant in Erbil reportedly opened fire and fatally shot three people on Tuesday night following a dispute over a 52,000 Iraqi dinar fuel bill. The incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. at a station on Koya Street. During a confrontation with two customers—who argued over the price after some fuel spilled on the attendant’s hand—the worker retrieved a Kalashnikov rifle and fired. Two men in the vehicle were killed, as was an unrelated bystander.

One of the victims was identified as Hamoudi Riaza, a renowned Iraqi bodybuilding champion known as “The Iraqi Giant.” The second was described as a Kurdish bystander with no involvement in the dispute, and the third was a friend of Riaza who has not been publicly identified.

Authorities confirmed the suspect was detained the same night, and the weapon along with its magazine was recovered. A court order has since been issued, and the investigation continues.
