Two people were killed in a fiery crash after a light aircraft plunged onto a road in Italy’s Brescia province on Tuesday. The plane, seen in shocking footage nosediving before erupting in flames upon impact, was completely destroyed. No one on board survived.

Authorities identified the victims as a 75-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman. Their identities have not yet been publicly released.

The crash caused a massive fireball, injuring two passing motorists who were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital. In the immediate aftermath, vehicles were seen driving through the flames before emergency services arrived.

The blaze led to the temporary closure of traffic in both directions. Multiple fire engines responded swiftly, and firefighters managed to contain the flames shortly after the impact.

Italy’s National Agency for Flight Safety has dispatched a consultant to assist with the investigation, while the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Brescia has opened a case for manslaughter to determine the cause of the crash.

This incident marks yet another aviation-related tragedy in 2025, raising concerns about flight safety protocols involving light aircraft.
