Just seconds before, he had gotten out of the vehicle that caused his death; the incident occurred near the community presidency.
An elderly woman died this Sunday after being struck by a public transportation unit on the Tepatlaxco-Tlaxcala line, just after getting off.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Libertad Street in the community of San Rafael Tepatlaxco, Chiautempan municipality . The victim, identified as Ixtenzi N., 84, got out of the vehicle with license plate number 19 and, after walking a few steps, started to cross Reforma Street.
According to security camera footage , the woman looked to her left side and, upon seeing the vehicle stopped, continued on her way. However, at that moment, the bus driver started driving to turn onto Reforma Street, unaware of the elderly woman in front of the vehicle, driving over her with his right wheels.
The driver stopped about five meters away upon noticing what had happened and got out of the vehicle, realizing that he had run over the passenger he had been transporting minutes earlier.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and transported the woman, who still had vital signs, to the IMSS General Hospital Zone No. 1 in Tlaxcala. However, due to the severity of her injuries—including fractures to her left femur, tibia, and fibula, as well as a pelvic fracture and multiple trauma injuries— she died before receiving specialized medical attention.
