In Cuernavaca, armed men killed a member of PIBA Morelos, the banking police, after shooting him eight times during an attempted robbery of the safe of the garbage collection company DKDA, responsible for the service in the city.
The incident occurred on Estado de Puebla Avenue, in the El Polvorín neighborhood, where the perpetrators tried to steal money from the safe, but were confronted by the security element, who tried to defend the area and was shot on the spot.
After the deadly attack, the criminals fled the scene, taking with them the fallen officer's firearm. The authorities of the Public Prosecutor's Office have started the corresponding investigations to clarify the events.
The police officer was transferred to IMSS Clinic 1 in Cuernavaca, where he unfortunately died minutes after being admitted.
