Shootout at gas station leaves suspect dead, security guard injured - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA - Gunfire broke out at a Fairmount gas station, killing one person and injuring a private security guard.
The shootout took place at a Sunoco gas station on the 900 block of College Avenue, about 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, according to officials.
The armed guard, a 30-year-old man, was on duty inside the store when an armed man, 39, walked into the location with a gun.
Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore says the suspect confronted the guard after an altercation about the location of a parked barbecue truck.
Surveillance video provided shows the moment the armed suspect walked into the gas station, confronting the security guard before gunfire erupted.
Police say gunfire was exchanged between both men, according to video from inside the store.
The security guard, licensed to carry and employed by Pennsylvania State Agency, a security company working with the gas station, was shot in the leg. He was taken to Temple University Hospital and listed as stable.
The 39-year-old man was shot multiple times in the face and in the legs. He died at the hospital.
In the gunfire exchange, one bullet made its way across the street, hitting a second-floor bedroom window. Officials said no one was injured in the home.
Police are actively investigating the scene, including the inside and the outside of the gas station. They did find multiple weapons at the scene, but haven’t made any arrests.
No charges have been filed in connection to this incident.
