The soldier attacked at the Gurpui bus station early this Friday morning (20) is 25 years old and was eating a snack after arriving from a trip. According to the Military Police, the suspect tried to grab the PM's gun, who was knocked down and fired a shot to defend himself.
The crime happened around 5am. The bus station's security camera caught the entire fight. Several people who were at the scene came together to help the soldier.
The crime suspect died at the scene and was identified as Edmilson Diniz Ferreira, aged 29. He is from Cantanhede (MA) and would be traveling on one of the buses.
The soldier, whose name was not given, was stabbed in the left leg and hand. He received medical attention and was discharged.
