Peon Kakodi of Chevayur Education Upazila Office was hit by a scooter on the National Highway Bypass yesterday and Nechuli K.P. Shaiju (Gopi-43) and his wife Jeema (38) died instantly. The incident took place between Vengeri and Malaparambi on the National Highway Bypass.
A private bus on the Payambra-Kozhikode route in front of it slowed down near the divider, and the private bus on the Narikuni-Kozhikode route, which was speeding behind, rammed into the scooter.
The death of the couple was caused by the death of the private bus. Due to the impact of the speeding bus, the scooter passengers were trapped between the two buses. Another bike that was nearby also got into an accident.
