Três Corações, MG — A 29-year-old cyclist, Luiz Henrique Rosa Piva, died on Sunday night (20) after a tragic accident on Avenida Rei Pelé.
According to firefighters, Piva was traveling from the Nossa Senhora Aparecida neighborhood to the Flora district, where he lived. Surveillance footage shows him riding over an elevated sidewalk, losing control as he descended, and falling headfirst onto the street.
Emergency services responded quickly. Firefighters and a rescuer from the Arteris dealership made multiple attempts to revive him. He was taken to São Sebastião Hospital, but his death was confirmed shortly after arrival.
Authorities reported that the victim suffered a collapsed skull and hemorrhaging in the temporal region. The incident has left the local community in shock and mourning.
