Two people were killed and a third was injured after a shooting inside Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

According to police, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the shopping centre shortly after 1:25 p.m. Investigators said the shooting began after a fight between two groups who were known to each other escalated into gunfire. Authorities believe the incident was targeted and not a random attack.

Three people sustained gunshot wounds. One victim died at the scene, while a second later died in hospital. A third victim was transported to hospital with injuries. During the chaos, another person was struck by a vehicle while attempting to flee the mall.

The shopping centre was placed on lockdown as officers secured the scene and carried out a forensic examination. Later that evening, Dearborn police announced that two suspects had been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to determine the circumstances and motive behind the attack.
