The victim, Billy Schmidt, a senior at Pennsylvania State University, was walking home in South Philadelphia at approximately 1:30 a.m. when he was allegedly targeted in a robbery. According to investigators, Schmidt confronted the suspects and demanded the return of his phone before chasing them as they fled. Surveillance footage reportedly captured part of the encounter.
