A 25-year-old gym trainer was shot dead at close range by masked gunmen during an early morning training session in Hansi, Haryana, in an attack that was captured on CCTV footage and witnessed by several trainees.

The victim, identified as Kapil Redhu, was conducting an outdoor workout session near his gym when two assailants arrived on a motorcycle. One of the attackers got off the bike and opened fire, striking Redhu multiple times in the head and upper body. He collapsed at the scene as the gunmen continued firing before fleeing.

Doctors reported multiple bullet wounds on Redhu's body. A female gym member who was nearby also sustained injuries from bullet fragments and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Authorities said the shooting occurred during a public training session attended by several people. Investigators recovered evidence from the scene and launched a large-scale search for the attackers. CCTV footage of the incident is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

Following the killing, social media posts allegedly linked to members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack. Police are examining the authenticity of those claims while investigating possible motives behind the murder.

According to reports, Redhu had entered into an inter-caste marriage approximately one year ago, though police have not confirmed whether this played any role in the shooting. Investigators are exploring multiple angles as they work to determine the motive and identify those responsible.
