A 19-year-old man identified by the surname Moraga was shot and killed inside a bar in Paso Canoas, Costa Rica.

Security camera footage captured the moment an armed man entered the establishment on Wednesday night and opened fire on the victim. The video shows the young man attempting to shield himself behind a woman inside the bar, but the gunman continued advancing and fired multiple shots.

Moraga suffered gunshot wounds to the chest, back, and right arm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ), the incident was reported at approximately 8:00 p.m. Investigators recovered several shell casings from the scene, which will undergo forensic analysis.

The body was transferred to the Judicial Morgue, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the motive for the killing and identify the person responsible.
