Gunman Kills Father in Front of Daughter Outside School in Lima, Peru

A man was shot dead by a gunman in front of his young daughter moments after picking her up from school in Lima, Peru.

The victim, identified as Eder Alexander Santos, was attacked in the Carabayllo district on May 7, 2026. Security camera footage shows him recognizing the assailant and attempting to flee after tossing his daughter’s backpack aside.

The gunman chased him down and fired multiple shots at close range in the middle of the street. The child witnessed the entire attack as her father collapsed.

A nearby resident was also struck in the hand by one of the bullets and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The attacker concealed his identity with a motorcycle helmet and fled the scene on foot.

Peruvian authorities are investigating the possibility that the killing was linked to organized crime. Police are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the shooter and determine the motive behind the attack.
