A tragic incident in Farrukhabad, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, resulted in the death of an elderly woman after she was crushed by an SUV while assisting her grandson in parking the vehicle.

According to reports, the woman was guiding her grandson as he attempted to park a Mahindra Thar inside their residential premises. After the vehicle was positioned, she moved to close the gate. At that moment, the SUV unexpectedly rolled backward down a slight slope, reportedly due to a loss of control.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the vehicle gaining momentum as it reversed, ultimately pinning the woman against a wall. Family members rushed to help, but she sustained fatal injuries and was later declared dead.

The incident has drawn widespread attention, particularly due to the disturbing visuals captured on security cameras. Authorities indicated that the accident may have been caused by a parking error, including the possible failure to properly engage the handbrake.

The victim’s family has not pursued legal action, as the incident involved a close family member. Officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the accident and have urged greater caution when parking vehicles, especially on inclined surfaces.
