A man was arrested for throwing a female police officer into the path of the Metrobús when the unit arrived at the Canal de San Juan station; authorities are investigating the attempted femicide.
Security cameras captured the moment in which a homeless man argues and throws a police officer into the path of the Metrobús at the Canal de San Juan station on Line 2.
The transportation system reported that the incident occurred on the morning of November 30, when a man pushed the station officer off the boarding and disembarking platform.
Emergency services arrived at the scene and transferred the woman to a hospital.
“For this reason, the subject was arrested and presented to the public ministry, where an investigation was initiated for the crime of attempted femicide,” the transport system detailed.
Finally, Metrobús reported that it is keeping a close eye on the police officer’s health. “The officer is stable and the injuries caused do not put her safety at risk,” it reported.
