A man accused of participating in a violent attack on YouTuber and businessman Saleem Wastik was killed during a police encounter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The case stems from a brutal assault that took place on February 27, when two men allegedly entered Wastik’s office in the Loni area and attacked him with knives. The assailants reportedly stabbed the YouTuber multiple times in the neck and abdomen and attempted to slit his throat before fleeing the scene.

Wastik, known for his social media presence and controversial views on religious topics, was left critically injured and was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Delhi for emergency treatment.

Police later identified the suspects as two brothers, Zeeshan and Gulfam. According to investigators, the attackers arrived on a motorcycle and were tracked down through CCTV footage collected from the surrounding area.

Zeeshan, one of the main suspects, was killed during a police encounter on March 1 after reportedly opening fire on officers during an attempted arrest. A few days later, Gulfam, the second suspect, was also killed during a separate police operation. Authorities stated that he was shot after allegedly firing at police while trying to escape.

Officials said weapons, ammunition, and the motorcycle used in the attack were recovered during the operations. Investigators believe the assault may have been motivated by anger over the YouTuber’s public statements and online content.

Police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue reviewing evidence and identifying any additional individuals who may have been involved.
