On Thursday at approximately 12:00 p.m., an eight-year-old girl, Shivnya Rawat, was struck by a speeding car while crossing the road in Kheda village, Narmadapuram district, Madhya Pradesh. The area falls under the jurisdiction of the Itarsi police station.

According to reports, the force of the collision threw the child nearly five feet into the air, after which she was dragged approximately 15 to 20 feet along the road. The driver fled the scene immediately following the incident.

Shivnya, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed by her family to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Hospital in Itarsi. Due to the critical nature of her condition, doctors referred her to Narmadapuram District Hospital. She was later transferred to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal for advanced treatment.

Medical officials reported that Shivnya suffered serious injuries to her head, face, and chest and is experiencing breathing difficulties. She remains under close medical supervision.

Her father, Raju Rawat, a laborer from Kheda, said the family is devastated. He stated that the car struck his daughter suddenly and that the driver did not stop after the collision. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle and the driver involved.

Police have launched an active investigation into the hit-and-run. Station in-charge K.N. Rajak confirmed that the child’s condition is critical and described the impact as severe. Efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the accused.
