A multi-vehicle collision involving ten cars and motorcycles occurred in central Daejeon on November 8, resulting in one fatality and fifteen injuries.

According to police at the Yuseong Police Station, the crash happened at around 1:50 p.m. when a Tesla driver failed to slow down while approaching a line of vehicles stopped at a red light. The impact triggered a chain-reaction collision involving the Tesla, several other cars, and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest and later pronounced dead. The Tesla driver, his passenger, and thirteen additional people in the involved vehicles sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Initial breath-alcohol testing for the sedan driver was negative, but authorities indicated that a blood test will be conducted to determine whether alcohol or other substances were involved. Investigators are reviewing dash-cam footage, traffic-camera recordings, and vehicle black-box data to establish the precise cause of the collision and assess whether any traffic violations or mechanical issues contributed.

Emergency services quickly responded, securing the area and attending to the injured. Traffic officials warned of delays in the vicinity due to lane closures while the investigation and cleanup continued.
