Pit bull charges into school in Belford Roxo, injures student

On the morning of November 13, 2025, a pit bull entered the grounds of CIEP 210 on Rua dos Soldados, in the Xavantes neighborhood of Belford Roxo, Baixada Fluminense.

The dog attacked a student, biting her leg, while other children tried to help as the animal continued moving through the school area.

Military Police officers responded to the incident. With no owner or handler located at the scene, the dog was taken into custody by officials.

The injured student received treatment at a hospital and was later released. Four other students suffered minor injuries during the disturbance.

Local authorities continue to investigate how the dog gained access to the school and the conditions that led to the event.
