In the afternoon of November 5 in Yên Bái Ward, Lào Cai Province, Vietnam, a serious incident occurred involving two eighth-grade students from Quang Trung Secondary School. After a verbal altercation, one student attacked his classmate, dragged him over a railing, and pushed him into a nearby lake before fleeing the scene.

Bystanders quickly intervened, rescuing the victim and rushing him to Lào Cai General Hospital No. 1. He sustained multiple superficial injuries and is now in stable condition.

Initial investigations suggest the conflict began after the victim allegedly teased and insulted the other student and his family. The attacker was reportedly carrying a small fruit knife in his school bag prior to the assault. Authorities noted that the nature of the act could be considered an attempted homicide. However, as the suspect is only 13 years old, he is below the age of criminal responsibility.

Local education officials and school administrators are cooperating with police to collect evidence and determine appropriate actions. The school principal expressed shock over the event, stating that the two students had been close friends with no prior disciplinary issues.
