Uploaded On:Sunday 8th of June 2025

On June 7, Pol. Lt. Naruebet Chomsuriya, Deputy Inspector (Investigation), Khuan Mit Police Station, was notified by the Khuan Mit Police Station radio center that a train had hit a motorcycle near Ban Khuan Mit Railway Station, Village No. 2, Khlong Pia Subdistrict, Chana District, Songkhla Province. After inspecting the area, he found the express train, Thaksin 38, Su-ngai Kolok-Bangkok, stopped past the railway crossing at km. 954/3 near Ban Khuan Mit Railway Station. A white Suzuki Smash motorcycle, license plate number Ngor Kor 956 Songkhla, was found next to the railway tracks. There were 2 fatalities, identified as Ms. A (assumed name), 14 years old, and Ms. B (assumed name), 15 years old, both from Songkhla Province. The bodies were sent to Chana Hospital for autopsy.

From the investigation, the train driver claimed that while the train was heading into Khuan Mit Railway Station, he tried to reduce speed, brake and sound the horn to warn. It turned out that the girl who was riding the motorcycle did not stop to let the train pass first. In the end, the train ran over the motorcycle and the girl died.

Officers reviewed the CCTV footage and found that they were able to clearly capture the moment of the incident. The motorcyclist rode without braking and darted in front of the train without fear. It is believed that the two of them may have thought that they were in a hurry to ride their motorbikes quickly and would be able to cross to the other side before the train arrived. However, the motorcyclist only made it halfway before being hit by the train and crushed to death.
