The armed attack that occurred at a salsa club in Bastión Popular , north of Guayaquil, was recorded by a security camera at the establishment.
The video was shared on social media and shows that the shooting, which left one woman dead and eight people injured, began at 11:46 p.m. on Thursday, May 29.
The footage shows a group of people sitting outside, drinking and chatting, when hooded men began shooting.
Customers immediately tried to take refuge inside the establishment, but a woman collapsed on the sidewalk and was shot several times by a man.
Most of the victims were Venezuelan nationals. The National Police later responded to the scene to collect the woman's body and ballistics evidence. However, some shell casings remained embedded in the establishment's roll-up doors.
The nightclub is located across from California Park. With this armed attack, the Pascuales district has now recorded at least 12 murders in the last week. The area has recorded more than 185 crimes so far in 2025.
