A speeding car ran over several dogs in the Virgen de Lourdes neighborhood of Santaní, leaving two dogs dead and others injured. Neighbors of the area narrowly escaped and reported the driver responsible.
The tragic incident occurred in the Virgen de Lourdes neighborhood of San Estanislao (Santaní), in a narrow neighborhood passage through which the vehicle was traveling at high speed. The excessive speed resulted in the death of two dogs and several more injured.
According to the testimonies of the neighbors, the driver did not stop when he saw the dogs in the street, which provoked a reaction of anguish in the residents of the neighborhood, who narrowly escaped being run over as well.
“It was a terrifying moment. We were close by and all we heard was the sound of the wheels braking,” said a visibly affected neighbour.
Following the incident, residents filed a formal complaint against the driver, demanding justice for the damage caused to both the animals and the safety of passersby.
Local authorities are investigating the case to determine the driver’s responsibility in the accident.
The local community is shocked by what happened and is calling for greater control on the streets of the neighborhood to prevent tragedies like this from happening again.
Investigators managed to find Miguel Ángel Candia Aguirre, who is believed to be the driver of the vehicle, and there is already a fiscal investigation file on the matter.
