Uploaded On:Tuesday 23rd of July 2024

An unfortunate incident occurred during the traditional bullfights of the patron saint festivities in honor of Santiago Apóstol in Tucta, Nacajuca, when a young man was trampled by a bull while participating in the event held at the ranch "El Regalo."

Over the weekend, attendees witnessed an accident that left a man seriously injured. According to videos shared on social media, the man attempted to ride the bull, nicknamed “The Tsunami,” but was quickly knocked off his feet. As he fell to the ground, the bull stomped on his chest and face several times, leaving spectators in shock.

Despite the severity of the attack, it has been confirmed that the young man survived the incident. However, the bruises he suffered from the furious stallion's footsteps were considerable, although the extent of his injuries has not been revealed.

Witnesses at the event said that "El Tsunami" had already been ridden by another participant, who was also thrown off, but fortunately did not suffer significant injuries. This bull is known in the region for its strength and aggressiveness, which increases the risk for riders who face it.

Bullfights are an essential part of Nacajuca's patron saint festivities, where adrenaline and danger are part of the attraction for participants and spectators. However, these types of activities carry an inherent risk, and incidents such as the one that occurred in Tucta are not unusual.

"These events are traditional and part of our culture, but there is always a risk of accidents," said a regular attendee of the patron saint festivities.

Local authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the incident, but additional measures are expected to be taken to ensure the safety of participants at future events. The injured young man is under medical care, and is expected to recover over time.

The incident has sparked a debate about safety at these traditional events, although many defend the celebration of bullfights as a vital part of the region's cultural heritage.
