Residents of the Vicente Villada Expansion neighborhood recorded the moment when a car driver ran over and dragged a woman for several meters, leaving her seriously injured in the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl. The subject managed to flee the scene.

The events were recorded on video and occurred on July 17 on San Rafael Street, between Del Valle Street and Texcoco Avenue, in the Vicente Villada Extension neighborhood. The images show the driver of a Ford Focus with license plates from the State of Mexico driving down one of the streets and dragging the body of a person. The driver accelerates and meters ahead the body is thrown out and run over by the rear tires. During the journey, screams were heard and the incident was recorded by a neighbour, who lamented what happened.

The victim was a woman who tried to get up, but due to the injuries she suffered, she could not. Witnesses of what happened notified the emergency services, who arrived at the scene and transferred the woman to a hospital for medical attention. The driver of the car managed to escape, however, authorities from the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl are already reviewing the cameras in the area.

The Nezahualcóyotl city council reported that it notified the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) to start an investigation and find the whereabouts of the culprit. The woman identified as Elide “N”, 36 years old, is hospitalized with her family, and her health condition is reported as critical.
