Öktemay's body was laid to rest in the Buca district after the funeral prayer performed after the afternoon prayer. In addition to Öktemay's family, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, Konak Mayor Nilüfer Çınar Mutlu, his uncle and Pamukkale Mayor Ali Rıza Ertemur, friends and relatives attended the funeral.
