Two teens and one child are hospitalized after getting struck my lightning - Puerto Rico

Several minors were affected this Monday after lightning struck Montones beach, in Isabela.

It was a 911 call that alerted authorities to an incident in which three minors received an electric shock from lightning that struck the sand area on the beach where the Parador Villas del Mar Hau is located in Isabela.

According to preliminary information, the mother of one of the minors told the police that the children were in the sand area when the events occurred. The paramedics assisted the minors - aged 7 to 12 - and transferred them to a hospital in the Aguadilla region.

The condition of one of the 12-year-old children is delicate.

The National Meteorological Service (SNM) of San Juan issued flood warnings this Monday for about 12 municipalities, including Isabela.
