Train knocks elderly man to the ground whilst he attempted to cross tracks - Indonesia

A 61-year-old grandfather was hit by a train that was traveling at the Beloran Sragen Kulon railway crossing. The grandfather was identified as Kustiadi, a resident of Mojomulyo, Sragen Kulon Village, Sragen District. From the video circulating on social media, the grandfather broke through a closed railway crossing. When the train approached the crossing, the grandfather ran towards the train and a temper tantrum occurred.

"At around 09.55 WIB, the Logawa train passed from west to east. When the railroad crossing gate was closed, suddenly the victim walked through the crossing gate and crossed the railroad crossing," said Sragen Police Chief, AKP Ari Pujiantoro, Sunday (28 /4/2024).

Kustadi also lay down when the Logawa train passed from west to east. According to Ari, the victim fell.

"Because the train was close, the victim was hit and hit by the left side of the locomotive from the direction the train was coming from, causing the victim to fall or fall and become unconscious," he explained.

Ari further said that the victim's condition is currently experiencing a decline in consciousness. His condition also suffered from injuries to his head and body.

"Irregular abrasions on the elbow of the right hand, abrasions on the knee of the left leg. The victim has a history of mental disorders, and currently the victim is still in intensive care at the Sragen District Hospital," he explained.

Meanwhile, Daop 6 Public Relations Manager Krisbiyantoro confirmed the incident. PT KAI also inspected the train circuit and it was declared to be in good condition.

"Then the train left Sragen, 7 minutes later and the victim was then handled by the Sragen related services, with this incident the victim's family was taken to the nearest hospital," he said.
