Kottayam - A young man who jumped from the Venad Express while fellow passengers were watching was admitted to the Kottayam Medical College with serious injuries.

Ansar Khan (24), a native of Kollam Panmana, jumped from the train while his fellow passengers watched.

The incident took place on Wednesday at 6.30 pm when the train reached Thalayolaparam.

Many people forced Ansar to come inside but he did not give in.

Meanwhile, Ansar, who remained there, jumped from the train.

The young man with serious head injuries was found near the Talayolaparam railway bridge and brought to the Medical College Hospital by police and locals.

It is reported that the young man jumped but his fellow passengers did not try to stop the train.

The police noticed that the video recorded by one of the passengers was circulating on social media and was investigating.

Ansar was found injured late at night.

The police said that the reason why Ansar jumped from the train is not clear and it is suspected to be a suicide attempt.
