One death, one victim of recklessness. Young Arthur Máximo da Cruz, aged 18, died last night (2), when he was hit by a speeding car while returning home. The young man had just gotten off work

Arthur's family went to the Legal Medical Department (DML) of Vitória on Wednesday morning (3) to release the young man's body. At DML, Arthur's family chose not to give interviews to the press.

However, one of the young man's uncle informed the TV Gazeta reporter that Arthur worked alongside his father in an automotive accessories store. According to the uncle, the nephew had finished his workday and, at the time of the collision, was on his way home, where he intended to take a shower before participating in a family party to celebrate an aunt's birthday.

Witnesses reported that the driver of the car did not respect the road signs, stating that Arthur had the right of way at the intersection. In the images captured, it is visible that the young man was thrown after the collision, landing next to a pole, already lifeless. The car involved collided with another vehicle parked on the street, and a man passing by on a bicycle narrowly escaped being hit by the motorcyclist's body. Fragments of the car and motorcycle were scattered across the road.

A team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called, but unfortunately, the young man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. In videos circulating on social media, the driver of the car is seen being taken to the Guarapari Regional Police Station.
