For the second consecutive week, the Tercios Group launched threats against buyers and sellers of huachicol (stolen fuel) in the state of Veracruz, as can be seen in a video that began to circulate on social networks.

The audiovisual material was broadcast on Sunday, December 19, and shows a 45-year-old man blindfolded, shirtless, kneeling and with his hands tied behind his back, who identified himself as Jorge Eulalio Herrera Cruz. Said subject indicated that he worked as a “gruero specialist operator.”

Eulalio was surrounded by a group of hooded individuals with firearms. Unofficially, it was announced that the video was recorded in a place in Poza Rica, a municipality where the presence of criminal groups dedicated to fuel theft has been reported.

According to the interrogation carried out, Eulalio was supposedly involved in huachicol activities, since he was in charge of receiving the money for the fuel that was illegally stolen from Petróleos Mexicanos ( Pemex ).

“Who do you get the money from for the diesel they get from Pemex?” asked one of the hooded men. “To the driver they picked up a few days ago, Mr. Enrique Rodríguez,” Eulalio responded in reference to the video that was broadcast last week, in which members of Grupos Tercios showed the execution of two people involved in this type of activities.

Throughout the interrogation, the nickname of an individual identified as ‘El Ojos’ , who is supposedly in charge of the fluids area at Pemex, was mentioned. He, according to Eulalio, is the one who receives the money obtained from the sale of diesel.

He also pointed out a group called ‘Los Charros’, to which the stolen diesel is supposedly directed under the authorization of Fernando Castillo Ahumada and Fernando González Reyes (both would be Pemex workers).

“They have 48 hours to cancel all the tokens they arranged (…) We don’t want to know that people are still working (…) And you fucking charras, stop talking to businessmen and merchants to ask them for your Christmas. It should be a shame for them,” said one of the hooded men after the interrogation.

“We are not going to rest until we get them out of Poza (Rica), until we finish off the last one who does not line up. Puro Grupo Tercios”, is heard at the end of the video, moments before Eulalio is hit with a wooden board and deprived of his life in that same place.

The state governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García , has publicly recognized the presence of Grupo Tercios in the entity, where they are mainly dedicated to the theft of fuels and hydrocarbons.

Although their main area of operation is the territory of Veracruz, it has also been indicated that they have scope for action in the northern mountains of Puebla, where they have been involved in murders and kidnappings.”
