A settling of scores between drug trafficking suspects left one dead and two injured in a shootout in Montes Claros, in the North of Minas Gerais, on Tuesday night (21). João Vitor de Jesus Silva, 21 years old, was shot in the head. He was rescued, but he did not survive the injury and died in Santa Casa in the municipality. The shooting suspect was arrested.

The shooting took place in the Lourdes neighborhood, in front of the 22-year-old suspect's home. Images from security cameras from neighboring properties show the moment when João Vitor and the other victim, a young man also aged 22, arrive on a motorcycle at the suspect's house. They talk for a few seconds when the passenger on the motorcycle and the suspect pull out a gun and start exchanging shots.

João Vitor, who was riding the motorcycle, is hit and falls to the ground. The other victim fled the scene on foot and the suspect got on the victims' motorcycle and also fled the scene. All three were hit in the gunfire.

According to the Military Police (PM) report, when the military arrived at the scene they found João Vítor bleeding from the head, losing consciousness. The police called a Samu ambulance. He was taken to Santa Casa in the municipality alive, but he succumbed to his injuries and died. According to the bulletin, he apparently was not armed.
