A man, his family members, and another person working with them reportedly hanged the Dalit person upside down in the cow shed, struck him with a stick, and set fire to the floor.

A Scheduled Caste community member was reportedly hanged upside down and battered up in a shed in Telangana's Mancherial District by an individual and his family members on suspicion of stealing a goat and an iron pipe, police said on Sunday, news agency PTI reported. On September 1, a tragedy occurred in Mandamarri mandal of the district. His relatives rescued him and he was treated for his injuries. A video of the event became popular on social media, although it was unclear who shot it.

In response to the occurrence, Prakash Ambedkar, Dr. BR Ambedkar's grandson and leader of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadihas, posted on X (previously known as Twitter) and labeled the incident as "absolutely barbaric." He also questioned Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's governance.
