Crime happened on Saturday night (26), when guard was off duty. According to the Secretariat of Security, the teenager who participated in the robbery had criminal acts in his history. She remains hospitalized in the ICU.

A man died and a teenager was injured after trying to carry out a robbery this Saturday night (26), in the city of Sobral . In a video made by a resident, the duo is seen leaving on a motorcycle and falling from the vehicle after being hit by the municipal guard who reacted to the robbery.

According to information from the Civil Police of the State of Ceará (PC-CE), the municipal guard spontaneously presented himself to the Sobral Regional Police Station, where he was heard and released.

The case took place at the intersection of Desembargador Moreira da Rocha and Coronel Mont'alverne streets. The man who carried out the robbery died at the scene. There is no official confirmation of his identity.

Also injured, the 16-year-old teenager who was with the man on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital. She is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Sobral, and her health status is considered serious.

According to the Police, the teenager had already committed an offense similar to attempted murder. After involvement in Saturday's robbery, she was booked in flagrante delicto for an infraction analogous to theft.

In a note, the City Hall of Sobral informs that the municipal guard involved was not on duty at the time of the action.

"The agent in question, whose conduct at the Municipal Civil Guard (GCMS) has been guided by the honesty of his actions, promptly presented himself to the police authorities and provided his testimony, placing himself at the disposal of justice", says the statement.

The municipal administration also informed that it is monitoring the case and collaborating with the investigations conducted by the Civil Police.
