A 36-year-old man was shot in cold blood inside a Harlem smoke shop Sunday night, the latest in a series of crimes at establishments selling smoking products, according to police.
Disturbing video obtained by the Daily News shows the victim standing at a counter inside the store, called just Smoke Shop, with several other men milling around behind him a little before 8 p.m.
He appears to exchange words with another man. After turning his back on him to leave, the second man abruptly pulls out a gun and shoots the victim in the neck area. The victim is seen falling face down on the floor as others inside the store scramble for the exit and one witness springs behind the counter. As the victim struggles to get up, the shooter walks toward him and blasts him again, leaving his targetâs body motionless.
The killer is then seen reaching into one of the victimâs pockets before the video ends.
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately released.
Neither he nor the shooter worked at the store, cops said.
