The events occurred in the middle of a public thoroughfare in the San Carlos neighborhood, in the town of Tunjuelito. The probative material shows that the woman was summoned by her ex-partner to accompany him to an appointment at the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare ICBF. It is presumed that when the man arrived at the scene he violently assaulted the woman on at least 12 occasions. Following the events, units attached to the Sijin Judicial Police of the Bogotá Metropolitan Area managed to capture the alleged attacker and seize a sharp weapon with which the injuries to the victim are believed to have been caused.
