One dead and two injured, is the balance of a tragic traffic accident registered in the Padilla Park sector in the municipality of Villanueva, where a motorcycle and a car were involved. The incident took place on Calle 14 (main road) with Carrera 12 corner, apparently due to speeding by the crew of the motorcycle. According to witnesses, the motorcycle was going up Carrera 12, aboard which three people were traveling, apparently in a state of drunkenness. The fatal victim was identified as Luis Ángel Bernuy Peñaloza, who received most of the blows to the head and thorax and arrived lifeless at the ESE Hospital San Rafael in San Juan del Cesar. The injured are Derwin Montero Rojas, motorcycle driver who suffered a fracture in one of his legs; and Jesús David González del Valle, who presents head trauma and lacerations, product of the strong impact against the vehicle. The authorities revealed that the three young people were moving on the motorcycle and at the intersection of the main road to go out to Padilla Park, they ignored the stop sign. At that point they hit the black Mazda Allegro car, driven by Alex Bernuy Baquero, who was picking up passengers bound for the municipalities in the center of the Department and Maicao. Bernuy Baquero was impressed since the deceased young man was his nephew.
