Uploaded On:Friday 19th of August 2022
Tampico.- A crocodile approximately 3 and a half meters long killed a man this Thursday morning in the Carpintero lagoon. The saurian dragged the body and after passing it along the edge of the lake, it took it through a drainage pipe and they managed to catch it and rescue the human in the Volantín colony. It was around 08:10 a.m. that passers-by reported that in front of the construction of the Ferris wheel they detected the crocodile of more than 3 and a half meters long that was dragging a man in the body of water. They immediately notified the authorities, arriving elements of the State Police, Firefighters, Civil Protection, Red Cross and local transit. They immediately set out to search for the body and the crocodile, however, after an hour it was found that the crocodile and the body were in a storm drain or sewer located about 150 meters from the lagoon, this on the street Arenal of the Volantín neighborhood. The area was immediately cordoned off and municipal Public Services personnel with cutting equipment, managed to remove the grid, and then rescue the body of the man between 25 and 30 years of age. After arduous maneuvers, the crocodile was captured and transferred to the fire station. Meanwhile, personnel from the Expert Services of the State Attorney General's Office took note of the body, which remains unidentified but according to Juan García Hernández, fire commander, he was wearing red shorts and a black shirt. He said he did not know details of how the attack happened because they were told that the animal already had the body in its jaws, so they do not know if the animal left or the man entered the lake.
