VANCOUVER, Wash. — Authorities are investigating a murder-suicide that occurred at a 7-Eleven store on Highway 99, where a store employee was fatally shot.

Deputies and emergency crews responded to reports of gunfire on October 17. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men inside the store suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

According to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office, 26-year-old Ryan Taylor of Vancouver shot and killed 37-year-old Pardeep Kumar, also of Vancouver, before taking his own life.

Investigators believe Kumar, who worked at the store, had no prior connection to Taylor.

The Clark County Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. Authorities say evidence at the scene confirms the incident was a murder-suicide.
