A tragic accident occurred late Wednesday morning (22) in the city of Assu, located in the western region of Rio Grande do Norte, when strong winds caused part of a construction site’s structure to be swept away.

According to reports, a metal roofing sheet was lifted by a whirlwind and struck a motorcyclist who was passing by. The victim, identified as 44-year-old bricklayer Simanete da Silva, sustained severe injuries to his neck despite wearing a helmet.

Surveillance cameras captured the moment of the incident, which was later confirmed by the Municipal Military Police.

Bystanders immediately tried to assist the victim, and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was called to the scene. However, paramedics confirmed that the man had died before medical help could be provided.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
