A young man was seriously injured on Sunday, October 12, during the patron saint festivities in Santa Inés, Urdaneta Municipality, Lara State.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the man crossed a security barrier at a local amusement park in an attempt to take a selfie. While doing so, he was struck in the head by a moving attraction, rendering him unconscious and causing convulsions.

Emergency personnel quickly attended to the victim and transported him to a nearby medical facility. Despite the severity of the blow, his condition has since stabilized, and he is reportedly recovering.

Authorities are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident and reminding the public to respect safety zones and barriers at public events to prevent similar incidents.
